2022 Summer Institute
Natural Curiosity is thrilled to launch our Virtual Summer Institute! This professional learning offering is for educators who wish to deepen their own inquiry into the ecology of natural curiosity – growing a learning environment where educators and students experience themselves in relationship with the Land and each other in community. This offering will involve a condensed time commitment and a hybrid of virtual and offline independent activities.
Over the course of two days, educators will explore the four-branch framework of environmental inquiry and the associated Indigenous lenses that present tangible entry points towards a reciprocal relationship with the Land participating as a co-teacher.
Facilitators: Haley Higdon (MA, OCT), Natural Curiosity's Program Director & Natasha Bascevan (MEd, OCT) Anishinaabe- Metis-Wemtigoshiikwe, co-editor of the Turtle Island Journal of Indigenous Health and owner/director of Mino Mashkiki Consulting Inc.
Dates: Tuesday, August 16th & Wednesday, August 17th from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM EDT (this timeframe was selected to best accommodate educators from coast to coast).
Cost: This program has a flat fee of $200 that directly funds the session facilitator, coordination, guest speaker, and the development of future Natural Curiosity professional learning opportunities. Natural Curiosity is a 100% donor-funded program.
